ISABELLA WHITNEY

Isabella Whitney
Is proudly from Atlanta, and proudly East Coast based. She is best known as a singer-songwriter specializing in R&B with a cheeky theatrical influence. With a degree in musical theatre, and classical training in opera and the performing arts, her technical foundation shines through even in different genres. Isabella began performing live and in professional capacities at the age of 11, and since writing and performing her first original song in 2017, Isabella has continued to hone her craft and a sound that is uniquely hers.
Green is a coming of age project, a storytelling album about the people and events that have shaped the artist as she becomes firmly an adult. It heavily leans into the emotional lyricism of R&B, and the drama of musicals. Several of the songs flash between rehearsals, auditions or on stage, "to represent how intimate or shareable a moment is. In the first track "Questions" the artist wonders about who she will be in front of a crowd. "Green," the final song, is a somber and cheeky reflection about how 'green' the artist still is, but acknowledges all of the formative events that have unfolded in the previous 10 tracks.
